Lloyd Paulista was founded in 1949 as an Insurance Broking House specialized in marine insurance and reinsurance. Among its founding partners was Dr. Horácio Milliet, who played an important role for the expansion of marine insurance in Brazil. He has been a pioneer in the Marine Insurance Market, besides developing several important projects for the progress of the activity in Brazil, collaborating in the implementation of the Brazilian Hull and Machinery Policy through the adaptation and translation of the English policy conditions.
